What is difference between compound and mixture |

Answer» Mixture is formed when two or more substances is mixed together in any proportion. The constituent particles show their properties. The constituent particles can be separated by physical methods like handpicking. Compound is formed when two or more atoms of elements are combined chemically to form a new substance in a fixed proportion. The properties of the constituent particles are different from the properties of compounds. The constituent particles cannot be separated by physical methods but can be separated by chemical methods like electrolysis. Mixture is formed when two or more substances are mixed in any proportion without any chemical change while Compound is formed when two or more substances are mixed in two proportion with an chemical change. |
