What is greenhouse effect? How is smog formed? |
|
Answer» The phenomenon of keeping the earth warm due to presence of certain radiatively active gases in the atmosphere is called green house effect. The name is based after a similar a warmer interior in a glass enclosed green house where glass paner CO2 and water vapour allow the solar radiation to enter but prevent the escape of long wave heat radiations. Such green houses are used for growing tropical plants in temperate areas. Smong are formed during chemical reactions between primary air pollutants and other atmospheric constituents, such as water vapour. |
