What is Jhum cultivation? |

Answer» 1. Jhum cultivation is practised in north eastern India. 2. This is also called slash and burn agriculture in which farmers cut down trees of the forest and burn the plant remains. 3. This ash from burnt trees is used as fertilizer. The land is used for farming and cattle grazing. 4. When cultivation is harvested, the area is left for several years so as to allow its recovery. |
