Answer» The heat energy which has to be supplied to change the state of a substance is called its latent heat. The amount of heat required to change the state of matter without change in temperature is called latent heat . It is also called as hidden heat (latent =hidden). Example: when water is at it boiling point it absorbs latent heat of vapourisation and forms steam . The heat energy which is needed by an object to change it\'s state is called latent heat |
