What is lateral inversion? Which english alphabets show lateral inversion

Answer»

Answer:

Lateral inversion is the real or apparent reversal of left and right. For example, the letter b when laterally inverted becomes the letter d (more or less). It is well-known that a PLANE mirror causes the apparent lateral inversion of objects.

Among uppercase letters: A, H, I, M, O, T, U, V, W, X, and Y. In the Times and similar fonts (SERIFS), however, A, M, U, V, W, X, and Y are not completely the same after lateral inversion because of the thin and THICK lines included.

Among LOWERCASE letters: i, o, v, w, and x. A similar note as above is also valid for i, o, w, and x.
