What is meant by resolving power of a telescope ? |
|
Answer» Resolving power is the reciprocal of the smallest angular separation between two distant objects which can be observed distincly using a telescope. If θ \([=\frac{1.22\lambda}{D}]\) be the angular separation, then resolving power = \(\frac{1}{\theta}\) = \(\frac{D}{1.22\lambda}\) ; [D = Aperture of objective lens] |
