Answer» A molecule which has two atoms A molecule which has only one type of atom is knowm as monoatomic. Number of atom in a element like h2 is diatomic because it has two atom and potassium in tetra atomic It is the number of atoms present in a molecule . If there is one atom it is monoatomic , if there are two atoms then it is diatomic and so on..
