What is one improvement of Newland’s law of Octaves when compared to Dobereiner’s triads? |

Answer» Dobereiner's triads was first attempt to arrange elements in a periodic way by considering 3 elements in a way that, average mean Atomic MASS of first and last elements are equal to atomic mass of middle one. where as, in NEWLANDS Octaves, he has arranged elements based on the same atomic masses but in INCREASING order, & When he placed 8th ELEMENT, it will be having similar properties of 1st element! that's the main difference here! |
