Answer» ✔️✔️what is sludge and how is it treated?⭕️Semi-solids such as faeces that SETTLE down during wastewater treatment are called sludge. ⭕️ sludge is removed using a scraper and then TRANSFERRED to a tank where it is decomposed by anaerobic bacteria to produce biogas. ⭕️ This biogas is used as a low-cost fuel for heating, COOKING, etc. ⭕️ It is also used to produce electricity. ✔️✔️what exactly happens to the sludge after the treatment is done ?⭕️Sludge is PASSED through a digestion chamber where it is decomposed by anaerobic bacteria which RESULTS in liquefaction. ⭕️ After this the digested sludge is disposed by drying and then landfilling. |
