Answer» What is today’s Marwar? It is nothing more than a waste of sand and rocks.Nothing big can grow here. The only things that grow there are the thorny shrubs, a few tufts of short grass. Occasionally we can see stunted ber and babul trees. However, we are pleasantly surprised to see groves of well grown khejdi trees. We can see such trees only around a Bishnoi village in the desert. आज का मारवाड़ कैसा है? आज यह रेत और पत्थर के टुकड़ों के सिवाय कुछ भी नहीं है। यहाँ कोई भी बड़ा पौधा नहीं उग सकता। यदि कोई बढ़ रहा है तो वह है झाड़-झंखाड़ तथा छोटे-छोटे घासों के गुच्छे। यदा-कदा हम छोटे-छोटे बेर और बबूल के पेड़ देख सकते हैं। तथापि हमें बढ़े हुए खेजड़ी के वृक्षों को देखकर सुखद आश्चर्य हुआ। हम रेगिस्तान में स्थित बिश्नोई गाँवों में ही ये वृक्ष देख सकते हैं। |
