What is sublimation? Give example . |
|
Answer» Sublimation is when a solidd change his state to gaseous state Sublimation, including melting, freezing, and evaporation, is a form of phase transition, or shift in a state of matter. A substance transforms from a solid to a gas by\xa0sublimation\xa0without ever going through a liquid phase. A common\xa0example\xa0of\xa0sublimation\xa0is the dry ice, heavy CO2. The phenomenon of change of solid directly to gas or conversion of gas directly to liquid without changing into liquid state is called sublimation. For instance, camphor also called\xa0capoor\xa0when kept for a long time vanishes.\xa0This is due to the sublimation of camphor. Most common example is camphor and dry ice The conversion of solid into air without converting into water ?Eg. Naptholen balls |
