What Is The Difference Between Iscsi And Fibre Channel? |

Answer» iSCSI is the transfer of SCSI commands over IP (Internet Protocol) NETWORKS, whereas Fibre Channel is the transfer of network and STORAGE PROTOCOLS (e.g. SCSI or IP) over fibre-optic or copper cables. Therefore iSCSI uses established network infrastructures to CREATE an IP SAN, whereas with Fibre Channel, additional infrastructure MUST be purchased in order to create a SAN. iSCSI is the transfer of SCSI commands over IP (Internet Protocol) networks, whereas Fibre Channel is the transfer of network and storage protocols (e.g. SCSI or IP) over fibre-optic or copper cables.
