The differences between National and Regional Party are:

National PartyRegional Party
National party refers to a political party is a registered party that operates in more than four states of the country and their area of operation extends over the entire country.Regional party implies the party whose area operation is limited and so their activities are restricted to only a few states.
It takes national as well as international issues.It is interested in promoting regional/state interest only.
It forms government at the center by securing majority of the seats single handedly or in combination with other parties.It cannot form government at the center on its own. Only combinations of such parties or by extending support to a national party can it form a government.
