Answer»

Receptor is a cell are a GROUP of cells in a sense organ which is sensitive to particular type of stimulus such as light heat etc.
What receptor does is RECEIVE information from the ENVIRONMENT and pass it to the dendrites of the neurones.
The neurones further pass information to central nervous system.
In case of absence of receptors or there not performing well, no information would be sent from the outer environment to the neurones which is the first step in creating a response.
For example, if the Tango receptors do not work properly, no reaction would be generated on touching a hot iron plate. This can result in severe BURNS to our skin.
So, the major problem likely to arise is that the nervous system won't work that effectively.
