What is the functional unit of kidney?

Answer»

The functional unit of Kidney is called Nephron. This is a very small structure within the kidney, which is responsible for maintaining a fine salt to water ratio through a network of capillaries. Through the nephron this ratio is maintained by continually pulling out a combination of water and salt from blood and converting it to urine to be disposed of through urination.
