1.	What is the genetic code?
Answer» The sequence of amino acids in the protein synthesised is predetermined from the nucleotide base sequence of mRNA which in turn is correspondingly derived from the base sequence of DNA. The DNA sequence that codes for a specific protein or a polypeptide are called a gene. Thus every protein in a cell has a corresponding gene. The relation between the nucleotide triplets and the amino acid is called the genetic code.
