Answer» During later Mauryan period, the Kushan kings compared themselves with deities. They followed the title of ‘Devaputra’. Such system was prevalent in contemporary Roman, Greek, and Iranian systems which was called deitism. Foreign rulers considered ths religious validity essential for social acceptance and they followed it in their kingdoms. |
