In people, the antigens or markers that identity their immune system are referred to as the human leukocyte antigen (HLA). 4. Antigens that are recognized as unfriendly invaders stimulate an immune response to destroy them. 5. Therefore, when organ transplantation is done, the immune responses are temporarily stalled. This helps in acceptance of the graft in the recipient’s body.
