Answer» ing winds blowing from sub-tropical belts of high pressure towards sub-polar belts of low pressure are known as Westerlies. Since Westerlies are OPPOSITE to trade winds and so they are CALLED anti-trades. They GENERALLY prevail between 30 and 60 degree NORTH and south latitudes.
