Answer» The ZigBee Alliance is a non-profit industry consortium of LEADING semiconductor manufacturers, technology providers, OEMs and end-users WORLDWIDE. Members aim at defining a global specification for interoperable, cost-effective, low-power wireless applications BASED on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. Current membership is about 200 and includes both heavyweights (such as Siemens and TEXAS Instruments) and SMALL startups.
