What type of cell performs meiosis? Because the cell which is performing meiosis, is itself diploid which means it is formed from the process of mitosis and if it is true then why it is changing its reproduction mechanism i.e. from mitosis to meiosis? |

Answer» Meiosis is a process where a single cell divides twice to produce four cells containing half the original amount of genetic information. These cells are our sex cells – sperm in males, eggs in females. During meiosis one cell divides twice to form four daughter cells. |
