Answer» In 1856, Indian government decided to use the new enfield rifles which had to be torn off using the mouth. In January 1857, the news spread that the fat of cow and pig had been used in the cartidges of the new rifles. Due to this incident, the soldiers got infuriated with the feeling of the destruction of their religious and refused to uses them and it infused a spark for the revolt.
