Answer» On 5th May 1789 King Louis XVI called a meeting of the estates general. The 1st and the 2nd estate had sent 300 members each who were seated in rows facing each other. The 3rd estate has sent 600 members who had to stand at the back. The third estate accepted to attend the meeting on the condition that they would be given the right to vote. When the king announced that it would be one vote per estate, the Angry third estate marched out and gathered in the Hall Of an indoor tennis court in the palace of Versailles. They declared themselves a national assembly and decided that they would draft constitution for France which would reduce the powers of the monarch. It was led by Abbe Sieyes and Mirabeau.
