Answer» The Romans and the Persians both conquered vast amounts of land. The roman empire composed of what is now called France all the way to Thebes. Rome expanded because they had a disciplined military and could support their own population. The Persian empire engulfed all the land from Libya to India. Their empire expanded also because of expert military horsemen and archers.As the roman and Persian empires expanded they both made many political advancements.The Persian empire established a model government in which they created a tax-collection system, a complex postal system and a system of roads still used today.
