|
Answer» Initially, the carpet and dust-particles are at rest. When the carpet is beaten, it is suddenly set into motion. The dust particles tend to remain at rest due to the inertia of rest, therefore, dust comes out of it. Here, carpet\'s particles are at rest. When we beaten the carpet, the carpet\'s particles are also moving. We know that particles of matter are continuously moving Initially, both carpet and the dust herein are at rest. When the carpet is beaten with a stick, the carpet is set into motion. Due to inertia of rest, the dust particles tend to remain at rest. As a result, the dust particles fall off. |
