When analyzing the ice core, scientists discovered that the carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the atmosphere were much lower than they are now. Since CO2 is a greenhouse gas, what does the lower CO2 level in the past say about our current climate? |
|
Answer» O₂ is a greenhouse gas hence it can trap the HEAT of sun's ray.since the level of CO₂ in the past were low so the climate was cooler in the past. Now since the CO₂ levels are very high so it TRAPS more heat thus raising the TEMPERATURE of ATMOSPHERE more and more. This causes the melting of ICE cores thus increasing the sea levels. |
