A vector points in a direction in space. A negative vector (or more precisely "the negative of a vector") simply points the opposite way.If I drive\xa0from\xa0my home\xa0to\xa0my workplace (and then defining my\xa0positive direction\xa0in that way), then my velocity is\xa0positive if I go to work, but\xa0negative when I go homefrom work.
