When NaOH is added to CuSO_(4) solution, a pale blue precipitate is obtained. On adding aqueous ammonia solution, the precipitate dissolves to give a deep blue solution. If the solution is made acidic with dilute nitric acid, the solution turns pale blue again. Explain each step with the reaction taking place. |
