Where does mitosis take place in plants and animals. |

Answer» Mitosis is the common method of cell division. It takes place in the somatic cells in the animals. Hence, it is also known as the somatic division. It occurs in the gonads also for the multiplication of undifferentiated germ cells. In plants mitosis occurs in the meristematic cells e.g. root apex and shoot apex. Mitosis occurs in almost all cells in plants and animals.It begins in the nucleus of the cell. |
