Where would you look for coleoptile and coleorhiza? What function do they perform?

Answer»

The shoot apex and few leaf primordia is enclosed in a hollow foliar structure in epicotyl region called coleoptile

Coleorhiza is an undifferentiated sheath that encloses the radicle and root cap. They both have protective function. Coleoptile protects the plumule and coleorhiza protects the radicle of the embryonal axis.
