They are also called Primary CONSUMERS as they feed on plants directly.Example - Cows, GOATS, Cattles etc.Carnivores : Animals which eat the herbivores are called carnivores. They are also called SECONDARY Consumers. They feed on plants indirectly.Examples - Lions, Tigers, Human beings etc.Now,Who used to get more energy?Herbivores or CarnivoresAs,Plants used to prepare its own food using raw materials. And the herbivores are first to eat the plants. So, they get more energy without doing much work.Whereas,carnivores use to hunt the herbivores to eat them. they have to use energy for hunting also, but they use to get LESS amount of energy as they are indirectly depended on the plants.Hence,Herbivores will get more energy than the carnivores. |
