In hiding she kept reading something or the other very day to continue her studies. She translated chapters, wrote down the vocabulary words and used to work hard. She enjoyed shorthand but later left it as her eyesight grew weak and she could not visit an ophthalmologist as long as she was in hiding in the secret annexe. She wanted to become a journalist.
