Extra information :- Balwant Rai Mehta committee was a panel named by the Government of India in January 1957 to ANALYZE the working of the Community Development Program and the National Extension Service and to recommend MEASURES for their better working. The CHAIRMAN of this board was Balwantrai G Mehta. The COUNCIL presented its report in November 1957 and suggested the foundation of the PLAN of 'fair decentralization' which at last came to be known as Panchayati Raj .
