Which value are promoted by the Indian constitution ? Give answer in long? |
| Answer» Several key words have been used in the Preamble of the Indian\xa0Constitution:(i)\xa0We, the people of India. The constitution has been drawn up and enacted by the people through their\xa0representatives, and not handed\xa0down to them by a king or any outside\xa0powers.(ii) Sovereign.\xa0People have supreme right to make decisions on internal as well as external matters. No external\xa0power can dictate\xa0the government of India.(iii) Socialist. Wealth is generated socially\xa0and should be shared equally\xa0by society.\xa0Government should regulate the ownership of land and industry\xa0to reduce socio-economic inequalities.(iv) Secular.\xa0Citizens have complete\xa0freedom to follow\xa0any religion. But there is no official\xa0religion. Government treats\xa0all religious beliefs\xa0and practices with equal respect.(v) Democratic. A form of government where\xa0people enjoy equal political\xa0rights, elect their rulers and hold them accountable.(vi) Republic. The head of the state is an elected person and not a hereditary position.(vii) Justice.\xa0Citizens cannot be discriminated on the grounds\xa0of caste, religion and gender. Social inequalities have to be reduced.(viii) Liberty. There are no unreasonable restrictions on the citizens in what\xa0they\xa0think, how they wish to express their thoughts and the way they\xa0wish to follow up their\xa0thoughts in action.(ix) Equality. All are equal\xa0before the law. The government should\xa0ensure equal opportunity to all.(x) Fraternity.\xa0All of us should behave\xa0as if we are members\xa0of the same family. No one should\xa0treat a fellow\xa0citizen\xa0as inferior. | |
