Which will be adsorbed more readily on the surface of charcoal and why, NH_(2) or CO_(2)?

Answer»

Solution :(i) The gases having LOW critical temperature are adsorbed slowly, while gases with high critical temperature are adborbed readily.
(ii) Among `CO_(2) and NH_(3)`, `NH_(3)` will be more readily adsorbed on the surface of the CHARCOAL. This is because the critical temperature of AMMONIA gas is quite high than the `CO_(2)`. HENCE, it easily combines with the materials than the `CO_(2)` whether it is solid, liquid or any gases.
