The reason for this is that the Supreme Court is the only body vested with the power to strike down laws and actions which are in violation of the Constitution by means of Judicial Review. Supreme court is called the guardian of the constitution because the supreme court is given the power to protect ,safeguard,and uphold the constitution and empower to declare a law null and void if it is found to be in consistent with the constitution.
