Oxford University is one of the most prestigious universities of the world.

The FIRST Indian Professor to teach there was Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

He was the representative for Calcutta University at the Congress of Calcutta Universities of the British Empire.

This congress took place in JUNE 1926.

He filled in for PRINCIPAL J. Estlin Carpenter at the HARRIS Manchester College and he gave a lecture to the students of Oxford University on COMPARATIVE Religion.
