Why actinides are more reactive than lanthanides? |
|
Answer» SOLUTION :All actinides have `7s^(2)` outer electronic CONFIGURATION. These s-electrons are less firmly held and are easily AVAILABLE for bonding. HENCE actinides are more reactive. The 6s-electrons of lanthanides are more firmly held and hence they are less reactive. |
