| Answer» I guess you have forgotten to show the charges . If you meant CH3COO- AND ClCH2COO-I have a answer.It\'s due to -I effect . The Cl atom shows -I effect and hence withdraws electrons from the conjugated system , reducing the - ve charge and hence increasing stability . ? | |
