Why Co2 is gas but SiO2 is solid ? |
| Answer» 1) Co2 consist of individual molecules with one central Carbon atom double bonded to two oxygen atoms.But Silicon does not form double bonds with oxygen.2) SiO2 is giant molecular structure but CO2 is simple molecular structure.Becoz of these two reasons CO2 is gas but SiO2 is solid. | |
