Mr and Mrs Malik got their new house constructed in Delhi. As they were in the midst of plans to shift, they learnt that the house had been acquired by the government. Mrs Malik was furious. After some time Mr Malik got retired from service. But their house had not yet been released by the government. Mr and Mrs Malik lived with their son and daughter-in-law in a rented house. Mr Malik was still fighting with the government for the release of the house when his end came. He passed away. Now within three months, the house was released. Thus Mr and Mrs Malik could not move into their new house during Mr Malik’s life time because the government released it only after his death. 

श्रीमान् व श्रीमती मलिक ने दिल्ली में अपना नया मकान बनवाया। अभी वे उस मकान में शिफ्ट होने की योजना बना ही रहे थे कि उन्हें पता चला कि सरकार ने उनका मकान अधिग्रहीत कर लिया है। यह जानकर श्रीमती मलिक अत्यन्त क्रोधित हुईं। कुछ समय बाद श्री मलिक सेवानिवृत्त हो गए।लेकिन सरकार ने अब भी उनका मकान खाली नहीं किया था। श्रीमान् व श्रीमती मलिक अपने पुत्र व पुत्रवधू के साथ एक किराये के मकान में रहने लगे। 

श्री मलिक अभी सरकार से मकान खाली कराने के लिए संघर्ष कर ही रहे थे कि उनका अन्तिम समय निकट आ गया। उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। अब तीन महीनों के अन्दर सरकार ने उनका मकान खाली करके उन्हें वापस कर दिया। अतः श्रीमान् वे श्रीमती मलिक श्रीमान् मलिक के जीवित रहते हुए इसलिए अपने उस नये मकान में शिफ्ट नहीं हो सके क्योंकि सरकार ने उनका मकाने श्री मलिक की मृत्यु के बाद में खाली किया।
