Why covalent compounds have low melting point and boiling point ? |
Answer» The force of attraction between the molecules is very weak and so the amount of energy needed to separate them is small, consequently they have low melting points and boiling points. As the bond is formed by sharing of electrons between two atoms. Intermolecular forces are small between the covalent compounds. These bonds break easily. |
