Why did bal gangadhar tilak said "swaraj is my birthright and i shall have it"?

Answer»

He told " Freedom is my Birthright " It MEANS "Freedom is my Birthright. So long as it is AWAKE within me, I am not old..." He said this for FOLLOWING reason:
He adopted a new SLOGAN coined by his associate Kaka Baptista: "Swaraj is my Birthright and I shall have it". Following the partition of Bengal, which was a strategy set out by Lord Curzon to weaken the nationalalist movement , TILAK encouraged the Swadeshi Movement and the Boycott Movement.
