Answer» Solution :Jaipal Singh plcad for the protection of tribes in the Constitutional Assembly because: (i) Tribes had been dispossessed of the LAND they had settled, deprived of their forests and pastures, and forced to move in search of new HOMES. (ii) Percerving them as primitive and backward, the rest of society had spurned them. Through these points Jaipal Singh wanted the society to mix with the tribes and was not asking for separate ELECTORATES, but he felt that reservaton of scats in the legislature was ESSENTIAL to allow tribals to represent themselves. |
