Answer» Sarju was the midwife of the haveli. She helped the maids of the haveli at the time of delivery. She massaged the young mistress Geeta as well as Lakshmi. One day Sarju got unusually late in coming to Lakshmi. More so Lakshmi was feeling severe pain. She thought that she (Sarju) might be flattering Geeta to get more precious gift on the occasion of Vijay’s birth celebration. So she scolded her for being greedy. सरजू हवेली की दाई थी। बच्चा जनने के समय वह नौकरानियों की सहायता करती थी। वह युवा मालकिन और लक्ष्मी दोनों की मालिश करती थी। एक दिन लक्ष्मी के पास आने में उसे असाधारण विलम्ब हो गया। इससे भी बड़ा कारण यह था कि लक्ष्मी को बहुत तेज दर्द हो रहा था। उसने सोचा कि सरजू विजय के जन्म की खुशियां मनाने के पर्व पर अधिक अच्छा उपहार लेने के लिये युवा मालकिन की खुशामद कर रही होगी। अतः उसने उसे लालची होने के कारण फटकारा। |
