The production of crops could not keep Pace with high population. Therefore the price of bread which is the stable diet of the MAJORITY grew. Most of the wages were DECIDED by the shop OWNERS . Therefore the wages could not keep Pace with the high price. The gap between the poor and the rich widened . During a drought or a hail the situation was very bad. This came to be know n as substance crisis. It FREQUENTLY occured in the old reign.
