Answer» Solution :(i) The CONGRESS had organized a series of individual satyagrahas to pressurize the RULERS to promise independence to Indians after the END of the Second World War. (ii) So, in such a situation, in 1942 WINSTON Churchill, The Prime Minister of England, sent one of his ministers, Sir Stafford Cripps to India to forge a compromise with Gandhiji and the Congress. But his mission remained unfulfilled as the talks fell flat. |
