1.

Why do we say that velocity and acceleration of a body executingS.H.M. are out of phase?

Answer»
since if velocity changes acceleration will also.. change. And velocity changes with respect to displacement.

For a body executing simple harmonic motion velocity is  maximum at mean position while acceleration is zero. At extreme position velocity is zero  and acceleration is maximum. Hence, when velocity is maximum,
acceleration is minimum and vice versa.
So we say that velocity and  acceleration of  body executing simple harmonic motion are out of phase.
