This is because the cane produced in here has a higher sucrose content. The cooler climate ENSURES a longer crushing season. . Along with Maharashtra, the other important sugar producers of South India are Andhra PRADESH, Karnataka and Tamilnadu. The soil of South India are highly suitable for growing of sugarcanes. The climate of South India is suitable to the CULTIVATION and growth of sugarcane. The winds coming from bay of Bengal and Arabian sea is highly content in sugarcane .
