Why does an empty vessel produce more sound than a filled one? |
|
Answer» The intensity of sound is directly proportional to the square of the amplitude of vibration. I ∝ A2 since, the amplitude of vibration of air molecules (empty vessel) is greater than liquid molecules (filled vessel), therefore empty vessel produces a louder sound than the filled vessel. |
